“The need for effective Science Engagement is an urgent task”

At the IYSE, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Japan SciCom Forum (JSF). Science communication and outreach, especially to global audiences in English, is taking off in Japan. This is where the Japan SciCom Forum comes into play:

Japan SciCom Forum brings together communicators, scientists, journalists, and outreach experts locally and globally to inspire and boost the cohesion of science communication in Japan. The JSF organises an annual science communication conference and regular meetups. The conference creates a venue to share and learn best practices and solution-based challenges through keynotes, flash talks, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities. And the regular meetups feature two experts to discuss various science communication themes.

“The need for effective Science Engagement is an urgent task. The International Year of Science Engagement (IYSE 2027) creates an opportunity for societal actors to listen and engage in a meaningful way to advance the scientific literacy of the society.”, says Thilina Heenatigala, Director of Communications at the Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI), Tokyo Institute of Technology Japan.

We are extending our thanks to the team at Japan SciCom Forum!
