Casimiro Vizzini is a Medical Doctor with 15 years of experience in international affairs and science/education policy. After obtaining his diploma of specialist in Urology he attended a master in International Cooperation at the “Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques” (IRIS) in Paris. He started working for UNESCO in 2007 in the Natural Sciences Sector where he served as Expert until 2019. He was notably in charge of the Human Variome project (HVP) and several projects in life sciences, science diplomacy, science communication and science education. In addition, Dr. Vizzini has a long collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in the area of science diplomacy. Recently, he covered the role of Secretary General of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH). Dr Vizzini actively contributes to various national and international initiatives in the field of science and health, is one of the promoters of “Scienza in Parlamento” in Italy and collaborates with the Convention on Health Analysis and Management (CHAM).
